Blue Hemmel taking Shape

Once an old stone hemmel where sheep and their feed were housed over winter, Blue Hemmel is gradually taking shape to be a wonderful bespoke holiday let in the Northumberland National Park.

Blue Hemmel will be a place of great peace and an oppurtinuity to spend time in the National Park with none of the distractions of the modern mobile world

This one has been a challenge for all involved. MTW Joinery and Building have done a fantatsic job, working through wind, snow, sleet and constant wind over the winter. The building was in a poor state of repair and has been saved just in time. One more winter may have seen the building collapse in a state that was no longer suitable for conversion, which would have been a great shame.

Blue Hemmel is completely off grid. Drinking water is provide by a bore hole. Electric is provided by generator and solar panels, which charge a large battery bank in the adjacent plant room, while heating is provided by LPG. So while you may be in the middle of the National Park with peace and quiet, you can still enjoy luxurious comfort, including superfast broadband! The adjacent barn will also contain a stable, so you can bring your horse on holiday and ride out through the surrounding hills and forests. We are looking forward to seeing this one complete and see visitors enjoy the spaces we have created for years to come.
