Bringing great design ideas to life

Insight Architectural Design

Pro-active and Creative Design Solutions

Located in the market town of Bellingham in the heart of Northumberland, we are a forward-looking architectural practice with an eye to bringing a contemporary edge to the traditional. Our focus is upon helping you create and realise your vision for your home or business. Our experienced team can support you with design ideas, working closely with you to develop a range of sketch schemes that help you explore different ideas for your project. We can then take your project through the technical stages of planning and technical drawings all the way through to the final build. We can advise you on the potential of a site and help you explore ways to maximise your vision within your budget.

Our approach to your project is professional, pro-active and creative. We strive to be responsive in all aspects of the design and build process and always keep our clients fully informed of progress. We work closely with a small group of trusted Professional Consultants, who provide supporting services and reports, ranging from Heritage assessments to Structural Design and Ecology. We have worked hard over a period of years to build a strong working relationship with Local Authorities.

Julian Thompson

Julian founded Insight Architectural Design in 2016, following 20 years of industry experience as an Architectural Designer, having built up an impressive portfolio of residential and commercial projects in the north of England.

Julian’s role is Lead Designer for all our clients, bringing together design and creative expertise from various disciplines and driving forward every aspect of the design and build process.

Outside of work, Julian loves the Northumberland countryside and can usually be found with a camera in his hand searching for the best composition for his latest landscape photography project; or else he and his wife will be found navigating the local highways and byways of the North Tyne on their e-bikes!
