Insight Architectural Design were commissioned to develop a design for a timber lodge in the heart of Northumberland, to be used as a holiday let. Located in a stunning setting in the open countryside, the design for this dwelling required creativity and experience to ensure that the building responded successfully to its site and immediate surroundings.

The dwelling is a one and a half storey design, with rooms in the roof void. The structure is timber frame and steel, with Western Red Cedar Cladding. The property benefits from extensive floor to ceiling glazing, including two sets of bifolds to the south elevation, maximising light into the living spaces and views out to the stunningly beautiful setting beyond. The ground floor living space is fully open plan. The first floor is reached via a contemporary glass and oak staircase. The property provides a unique living space in a beautiful, secluded part of Northumberland.
